The beginning of the blog
I'm not a panicker but I am an historian. Walking through the strange streets of Essex these past few days, every now and again I get the feeling that I could be living in another time. Since the coronavirus started spreading through the country, things have changed. Shops running out of basics, people queuing for toilet roll, places that were once packed now empty. It is a strange time. And the purpose of this blog is to chart it. That's a lofty ideal. It's in reality, a piece of social history, one person's perspective of an event that has become far more extraordinary that we could have anticipated even a week ago. Life changes moment to moment. Maybe one day someone will find this and it will give them a window on what life was like in the time of Covid-19. I'll write posts and I'll share articles and pictures.
